Camp Report for the 2003 Camp

ESA Lake Tyers 2003 was 110% fantastic! With around 100 campers, cooks and leaders, our time away at the ‘beach side resort’ (Lake Tyers) was a blast!

Some of our activities included water skiing – for which God provided some nice weather conditions – abseiling, a walk through Buchan caves, fishing and some extreme canoeing!

Meal times were always looked forward too, we were catered for exceptionally well by Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. Weatherly and Mrs. Thorpe, thanks heaps!! Some of meals included stir-fry, spaghetti bolognaise, baked potatoes, chocolate mousse, ‘frog-in-a-pond’ and much more scrummie things.

Worship services in the evenings were a major high of the camp; the campers and leaders had an awesome time giving praise to God! Some were able to try out their skills with leading and playing music. We had ‘The Nightly News’ by Richard and Stu (very funny, thanks guys), ‘Grum’s Music’ where we listened to some excellent Christian music and why it’s so much better to be listening to Christian music instead of secular music. We also had leader interviews every night where we got to learn interesting things about some leaders :o).

Our studies – lead by Dean Richardson (a.k.a. Deano) focused on David and on David’s journey through life. This was demonstrated to us through a number of different and exciting skits. These involved campers and leaders and brought us much entertainment and laughter. The effort put into these skits was much appreciated and carried a good message that I’m sure will stick with us forever.

A highlight of the camp was our theme dinner – Superhero's– where we all dressed up in costumes representing our heroes. The cooks served us roast chicken and veggies that went down a treat!

We’d like to thank Geoff our camp director for his fantastic effort and input to the camp, the Campbell family for the awesome food provided, Deano for his enthusiasm in the studies and all who helped out. Also the large number of leaders that were able to give up their time and serve God in this awesome way. Most importantly we’d like to thank our Creator, for His awesome love, guidance, and all the things he provided. Our God is AWESOME!
