Right across Victoria, through camps and community connections, we proclaim the gospel, grow disciples, and develop servant-hearted leaders. Join the ESA Board
Expressions of Interest - Board Director (Volunteer)
Amid an exciting season of growth, we are seeking to appoint two new volunteer Board Directors. The Board of Directors is accountable for the overall governance, management, and strategic direction of ESA Country Ministries.
Key attributes for the role include:
- A committed Christian faith and a passion for the mission of ESA
- Alignment with our values of Connection, Authenticity, Humility, and Faith
- Skills and background in one or more of the following areas: Governance, Legal, Risk & Compliance, Fundraising & Philanthropy
- Ability to think critically and strategically
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector
Anticipated time commitments include:
- 5-6 meetings a year (Thursday nights: 2 in person (in Essendon) and 3 online. Our AGM is held online in October.
- Occasional weekend PD and time with the staff team.
- Serving on Board Committees or involvement with occasional working groups.

Join a Board Committee
Fundraising Committee
We’re looking for passionate, creative, and connected individuals to join our Fundraising Committee. Do you want to play a meaningful role in seeing ESA’s ministry thrive?
As part of this committee, you’ll help shape and strengthen ESA’s fundraising efforts by bringing fresh ideas, offering insight and encouragement, and partnering closely with our Program and Partnership Manager (PPM). You’ll have the opportunity to open doors by inviting others into financial partnership, developing and championing new and existing initiatives, and attending/assisting with occasional fundraising events.
We are looking for people who believe deeply in the mission of ESA, model generosity, and encourage others to do the same. We also recognise the spiritual foundation of this work, seeking committee members who are committed to praying for God’s provision and the ongoing sustainability of the ministry. If you’re excited about using your voice, networks, and creativity to make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
Key attributes for a committee member include:

- Creative fundraising initiatives
- Cultivating financial partnerships, both with individuals and grant-funding bodies

Policy Committee
We’re seeking thoughtful, detail-oriented individuals to join our Policy Committee. Are you passionate about strong governance and helping ESA operate with integrity and accountability?
As part of this committee, you’ll play a key role in ensuring ESA’s policies remain current, compliant, and effective. Guided by our broader governance framework, you’ll help review and refine existing policies, identify any gaps, and compile new policies as needed. You’ll also help ensure policy reviews are well-planned and aligned with the Board’s annual schedule, supporting smooth and proactive governance.
This role is ideal for those who enjoy bringing clarity and structure, have an eye for detail, and want to contribute behind the scenes in a way that strengthens the whole organisation. Your input will help ensure ESA continues to meet regulatory requirements while staying focused on its mission. If you’re motivated to use your skills to support good governance and make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
